I think it is important to continue to bring awareness about poverty. One way we can do this is by blogging about it. Perhaps it doesn’t seem like much, but when many bloggers join together to speak about this very important issue, it becomes a very big deal. Blog Action Day 08 is asking bloggers to join together on October 15th to talk about poverty. Consider joining in.

We can all do “something”
Mandy Thompson, at mandythompson.com has started a series about “doing something.” Ok, so I’m not doing it justice, so you’ll have to click on the banner below and read about the people who are “Doing”.
So today I stole this list of websites that we can click on, and actually be DOING SOMETHING at the same time. Imagine it… helping AND clicking! That is very cool.
She stole the list from Amber, and now I’m stealing it from Mandy. My thanks to you both!
1) goodsearch.com – Each time you click, the charity of your choice will receive 1 cent. I know that doesn’t seem like much, but consider how much you google stuff each week. See? It can add up!
2) thehungersite.com – So, there are different buttons for different donations, and you can click the buttons to have money sent to different needs… While you’re waiting for your favorite youtube video to load, park it at this site and click away!
3) ripple.org – Ripple works in the same way that thehungersite works… You just click and money from tasteful advertising goes somewhere to somebody in need. You can even install a ripple searchbar or put a button on your blog.
4) freerice.com – Test your vocab skills while you donate rice to those in need. The more right answers you get, the more rice goes to someone else.
Here’s the challenge: Bookmark one (or all) of these links in your browser. While you’re waiting to kill some time, take a moment to click.
Your clicks can change someone else’s life.
