I have 4 children. 2 of them were diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome… a mild form… last Thursday. I’m overwhelmed, but it isn’t a diagnosis that scares me. It breaks my heart for how difficult things may be for them. I adore both of them so much. I want life to be easy for my kids, but it isn’t going to be. Even without Asperger’s our children will face trials and sorrows in this world. All 4 of my children will face something in life that isn’t easy. But as a mom, I really wish I could spare them all the hurts and traumas and sadness, but I cannot save them from everything.
