For those of you who don’t know him, Noreaster is one of my favorite blog-world people. In the video he created with his good friend, Chris, “The Church of Misfits: Official Interview” , he discussed his one flaw… carving a turkey. I would help him, but I’m just as bad as he is at carving poultry! So I found something to help him out. Here is the official tutorial on carving a turkey. Seriously. And if you have this problem in your life, join us in our quest to gain Turkey carving knowledge! :)

  1. hehe.

Hey, I saw you today at Bible school. You passed by on your way out as my son was having a meltdown in the foyer (by the stairs). I was a little ‘lost’ in the moment and when I realized it was you it was too late.

    How are you?

  2. Sue… that is too funny. A few days ago my daughter pointed you out (you must have told her you knew me from the internet), but all I saw was the backside of your car as you drove out. Today she was trying to tell me something as we walked out the door… afterwards she was so upset because she had been trying to tell me you were standing there. By then we were in the car on our way home, and it was too late to try and come back.

It is the strangest thing to have someone recognize you from the net, but at least we’ve e-mailed before. One time a lady approached me on an airplane when I was traveling to Ethiopia because she was a blog reader and knew I was on my way to pick up my daughter. It was our adoption blog, but she had never even commented.

Anyway… next time yell, shout, or grab me so I can meet you! :)

    Heidi

  3. Now, did you by any chance notice all those fancy camera tricks? I mean, they would start carving here and then they would stop filming and start carving some place else!

    IT’S A CONSPIRACY, I TELL YOU!

    A CONSPIRACY!!!

    ;)

  4. They made it look so easy… too easy…. and wouldn’t it be too hot to touch? How do we even know it was the same turky in each shot????

I’m with you on the conspiracy theory. :)

  5. And did you ever notice that they NEVER show a Top Chef on The Top Chef show carve a turkey? Oh, sure, they’ve carved up whole dead cows, but NEVER A TURKEY!!!

    Totally a conspiracy!

  6. What a great friend you are, Heidi!!

Now he won’t have any flaws left, you’ve cured them all! ;)

  7. Yup!

Now, if it were only that easy to fix me!

  8. The GREAT Turkey conspiracy!!!

  9. I don’t know. Chris and I have (tentatively) agreed to have Thanksgiving at my place this year. Which means somebody has to carve the turkey again. I think I’m going to watch that video a million times between now and then. And, if I’m lucky–and somebody reminds me–I’m going to try to capture my turkey carving nightmare on video!

So…I don’t know if you’ve treated that flaw just yet, Hiedi! Or is it Heidi? I’m terrible with i’s and e’s, you know! (Gosh, another flaw! D’Oh!!)

  10. Mark, there are conspiracies everywhere… but who would have thought turkeys would cause such controversy!

Nor… Oh no… it is like plugging the dam… fix one hole, and others start leaking. I’ll look forward to watching your Thanksgiving Turkey adventure. And it is H E I D I (not phonetically correct at all)

  11. Well, seeing as how you’re a “fool,” I guess it’s okay that your name is not spelled foan-ett-ick-tik-ali koarrect! ;)

    Love you, Sis! ;)

  12. I guess it is ok…

    Love you too, bro. :)

  13. I’ve been coming here a lot lately. Sometimes, just to see the title. Other times, I read the post again. I’m seriously enjoying that you took the time to think of me and “cure” my “one flaw.” ;)

  14. Well, I figure when Michelle and I show up one day for turkey, it would be nice if we didn’t just have to gnaw on the carcass. :)

  15. This is more like surgery. I think I will leave this to my father in-law.

  16. Yes, Heidi!

Thanks for thinking of a Blogger’s Thanksgiving Convention as NorEaster’s with Chris, of course, as the special guest. Practice, Nor, we want to be able to feast.

I’ll bring the potatoes, I’m good at potatoes.

    Great thinking, Heidi. ;)

  17. at* NorEaster’s

good at potatoes but NOT typing.

  18. My dining room table extends to twice it’s size. So you know what? YOU’D BETTER BE HERE!!!

  19. (By the way, I haven’t forgotten about those podcasts; lately I’ve just been a little…Well, you know.)

  20. Michelle… potatoes sound great. I’ll bring… ummm… well, I’m not really good at bringing things. Of course, I don’t even know what state we are heading to, so maybe something that won’t spoil as we drive around the north east calling Nor’s name?

    Nor… cool table. (and don’t worry about the postcasts… We know… )

  21. That was NOT supposed to be a wink… just a parenthesis.

  22. Nor, I needed this video last week. I was carving the turkey at my moms house, and making a really good mess of it. I guess that is my new argument for needing a laptop!!! :)
